I’ll be your mirror
These paintings are based on photos I took of Loch Goil in Argyllshire, Scotland, several years ago that have been stored in the back of my mind ever since. I was drawn to the symmetry of the reflections and the minimalism of the compositions. I think of the paintings as a set of opposites. The horizon line is the balance point and you can go either way- into the real or into the depths. As you look at them you forget what is sky, what is reflection, what is solid, what is liquid.
